Our Team
Quantum Samurai, Team 1601, is a group of 103 high school students from grades 9 to 12. Along with our three mentors, we collaborate to create competitive robots that make a positive impact on our community.
Our team is split into six divisions: Mechanical, Electrical, Field, Programming, CAD and Business. These groups let each member focus on what they are most interested in. Thanks to the guidance of experienced mentors, we get to build our skills and understand the ins and outs of robotics.
Our School
Aviation Career and Technical High School is a Career and Technical Education (CTE) school where students learn the ins and outs of aeronautical engineering, aviation design and aviation maintenance. Students partake in shop classes that teach them skills in welding, sheet metal fabrication, electrical diagnostics and more. At the end of their time at AHS, many students become certificated to work on aircraft in the industry. The hands-on skills and technical knowledge our students possess combines seamlessly with the FIRST Robotics Program. Aviation is a Title 1 school meaning 90% of students are in a minority group and 70% of students are economically disadvantaged.
